East Dome Committee Meeting Minutes
March 14, 2006
A meeting of the FBAC East Dome Committee was held March 14, 2006 at America Buffet in southwest Houston.
Attending EDC members were Bill Dillon, Joe Dellinger, Don Jarvis and Dennis Borgman.
We reviewed the accomplishments from our ED clean-up day, held Sunday, March 12, 2006.
ED Clean-up Day Review:
- Bill Dillon, Melvyn Abels, Don Wells, Cynthia Gustava, Tracy Knauss, Joe Dellinger, Dennis Borgman attended.
- Clean scope fork arms. Complete, Melvyn
- Clean telescope mirror. Delayed to April 9, 2006
- Organize all wall postings so they are clear and usable. Didn't get to
- Clean under floor and discard junk, organize what needs to be kept. Complete, Cynthia, Tracy, Joe
- Complete hand rail cleaning, sanding of rust spots and primering. Complete, Don and Tracy
- Disassemble and completely clean exhaust fan and enclosure. Complete, Dennis
- Vacuum all areas. Complete, Joe
- Clean all counter surfaces and front edge trim. Didn't get to
- Trim any foam filler left from previous work from outside of dome walls. Complete, Bill, Cynthia, Tracy, Melvyn
- Finish foam filling places where wasps can get in and nest. Complete, Bill
In addition, Joe and Melvyn cleaned out both cabinet drawers and organized what was left.
Next ED work day:
We set a date and created a preliminary task list for our next work day.
- To be held April 9, 2006.
- Replace RA scope bearings.
- Clean telescope mirror.
- Repair weather plywood panel on scope mount.
- Inspect and correct focus port vignetting.
- Paint fork.
- Organize all wall postings so they are clear and usable.
- Clean all counter surfaces and front edge trim.
Status of go do's and commitments from last meeting:
- EDC Group - We need to agree on the list of "grandfathered" Main TO's from the list of 2005 volunteers.
Complete, members who haven't volunteered for 9 months will be dropped from the active TO list.
- Bill Dillon - Provide groundwork document for TO testing. Still working.
- Bill Dillon - Send Dennis a list of ED trainees, with dates of training (noting Quadrant availability). Complete.
- Bill Dillon - Publish start-up check list on the web, to be linked to off the EDC page. Complete.
- Bill Dillon - Add Main TO tracking to eventual e-sign-in sheet (and/or have Cynthia track Main TO on ED Calendar). Still working.
- Joe Dellinger - Provide a clean-up day sign up sheet for the 2/17/06 FBAC meeting. Complete.
- Dennis Borgman - Have Wes add a link to the FBAC EDC page that links to EDC page on Borgman server. Still working.
- Dennis Borgman - Design main link page to provide access for all to EDC minutes and task list. Complete.

Progress on open items from the ED task list
- There are 19 open items on the ED task list.
- Item 30 Review volunteer log and change combo:Complete less combo change.
- Item 15 Replace scope tracking bearings:Joe has purchased the replacement camrol bearings. Replacement planned for April.
- Item 1 Q4 status:The Quadrant 4 is back from AIM Controls. Testing to follow.
