"FBAC Donation Wish List" of items needed that would help FBAC members better educate the public at the George Observatory when they volunteer. Updated by Tony Wiese 5/15/11.

Wired or Wireless public announcement system: The idea would be to have two microphones and be able to broadcast from either the Research Dome or the Gift Shop. And to have wired or wireless weatherproof speakers that are mounted on outside and inside of the East Dome and West Dome, and on the outside of both sides of the Research Dome, as well as downstairs outside of the East and West entrances and in multiple ceiling speakers in the gift shop and display area as well. The goal is to better allow the public to hear when seminars are being started, and to hear which group and time slot are being shown at the Research Dome. Additionally it would allow paging throughout the observatory complex as well.

 A 6-inch diameter refractor telescope for the East Dome This will allow us to show guest how the earth's atmosphere affects viewing

 An Orion dedicated telescope video camera To attach to the 6-inch refractor telescope and show real time on the East Dome "Image Computer" monitors what we are viewing in the 18-inch diameter telescope. And to compare the views of the two telescopes to see how the earth's atmosphere affects viewing.

 Mounting plates for attaching the refractor telescope For attaching the 6-inch refractor "piggyback" to the 18-inch telescope in the East Dome

 Full Motion LCD Wall Mounts For better public display of computer monitors, makes viewing monitors clearer

 Computer systems with 24 to 30-inch wide (or larger) high definition monitors For showing Hubble photos of the objects visitors are looking at in all three domes, and to update existing computers

 Bino Viewer for the East Dome 18-inch scope Affords spectacular views of the moon and the planets using both eyes, which equates to twice as much light.

 31mm Naglar Televue eyepiece Why: On good nights with a stable atmosphere, we will be able to push the magnification on the big 36-inch telescope and yet still maintain a wide angle of view to give the public an even better view of the objects we are looking at.

 16mm Naglar Televue eyepieces for the Bino Viewer Why: On good nights with a stable atmosphere, we will be able to push the magnification on the 11-inch telescope and still maintain a wide angle of view to give the public an even better view of the objects we are looking at.

 LED Neon Marker Board Important signage for each dome – for location and what is showing that night

 All types of mechanic's, carpenter's, hand and power tools, levels, storage boxes, etc. For maintaining and improving the telescopes, domes, and buildings
