Research is an important part
of life in the Fort Bend Astronomy Club. Members are regularly
involved in asteroid and supernova searches and new asteroids are
discovered on a routine basis. The asteroid search team is a recipient
of the Lone Stargazer award given at the Texas Star Party for
contributions to the field of astronomy.
FBAC also coordinates a team of club members who are available to search
for the afterglow of gamma ray bursts. These are people who can, at
a moments notice, be available to try to image these elusive
objects.
All club members are welcome to participate in these team activities.
